Ashley was born in Oregan and raised in Alaska. She and her husband were married in June of 2006 and are currently raising three little girls together. Ashley is a member and a volunteer at Heart of the City. She serves in kid's church and in the women's ministry. Recently, Ashley has opened up her own gym and runs a personal training business from home.
Ashley battled with addiction for numerous years, when she was a teenager and as an adult. When she was baptized for the second time as an adult on Easter Sunday at Heart of the City, she was also celebrating 90 days of sobriety. Today, Ashley is two years sober and continues to work on her recovery with the help of God, the community at church, and her family.
Ashley tells me the importance of teaching her girls about the relational aspect of knowing God. She tells her girls to put their faith in Jesus because humans disappoint--even moms and dads. She finds it valuable to attend a church where her children will be taught that Christians don't fit into a neat little box, but that Jesus was the only perfect person, and the rest of us will make mistakes but that doesn't mean you're unloved or unimportant because God continues to love you.
